Chairman and Director

The Chairman is Steve Rowe. Steve is a renowned writer in the Martial Arts contributing regular columns to magazines and author of martial arts books. He is Chairman of Shi Kon Martial Arts International, one of Europe’s largest martial art associations and teaches Karate and Tai Chi across Europe. He owns and operates a full time dojo in Kent and holds a 8th Dan in karate, a 3rd Dan in Iaido, a 1st Dan in Jodo and is an international Tai Chi instructor. 

Steve has held many positions in the governance of the martial arts over the years including Chairman, Secretary, Executive Committee Member and Director of the governing body for Karate in England, Secretary of the British Karate Federation and has sat on the Martial Arts Commission as the representative for Karate.

 

 

Secretary and Director

The Secretary is Roger Wilkes 7th Dan Ju Jitsu, 4th Dan Atemi Jutsu, 2nd Dan Karate and 1st Dan in Judo and Aikido.  Roger is the founder of the Kyushin Ryu Ju Jitsu.  he has spent many years training with some of the best Ju Jitsu masters in the world including Robert Clark, Inoue Tsuyoshi Munetoshi, Fumio Tanaka and Jan De Jong.

He was written for several martial arts magazines and organised some of the larger Ju Jitsu events in the UK.  he co-founded a large international Ju Jitsu body of friends that meet annually to train in each others countries in Europe, the USA and Aurstralasia.

Roger is a retired Prison Governor who now devotes all his time to his Martial Arts.

 

Treasurer and Director

Carl has been in the accountancy profession since 1997, holding AAT and ACCA qualifications. He deals with a wide range of clients in various industries. When he relocated to Swindon in 2002 he joined Dennis & Turnbull, the leading firm of accountants in the martial arts industry.
 
Carl now services over 50 schools nationwide, including some of the largest schools in the country. He has also assisted many schools in achieving VAT exemption rulings from HM Customs & Excise, and has advised various schools on their restructuring.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Standards Director

Standards Director is Martin Gatter. Martin is a Regional Verifier for City and Guilds. He owns and runs ‘Classic Coaching’ an approved centre with City and Guilds dealing with coaching and the NVQ’s in the Martial Arts, it is also an umbrella body with the Criminal Records Bureau for conducting CRB checks and deals with Instructor Registration and insurance.
 
Martin is a 6th Dan in Karate, a 2nd Dan in Iaido, a 1st Dan in Jodo and an International Tai Chi Instructor and runs his own Martial Arts clubs in South London

 

Members Director

The Members Director is Andrew Morrell. Andrew is the Founder of the Cobra Martial Arts Association (C.M.A.A.) as well as being the England Squad Manager for the World Karate & Kickboxing Association (W.K.A.) and a Senior Tutor for the Self Defence Federation (S.D.F.)
 
He holds a 6th Dan in Cobra FMA (Karate, Kickboxing, Ju-Jitsu combined), a 5th Dan in Freestyle Karate/Kickboxing, a 3rd Dan in Ju-Jitsu and a 2nd Dan in Shukokai Karate. He runs his own Martial Arts clubs in Manchester along side serving as an Officer with the Greater Manchester Police Special Constabulary.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Policy Advisor

Jonathan is a practising civil law barrister specialising in personal injury, medical negligence and sports law. He is also qualified in international commercial law and maintains his academic interest by researching for a PhD in anti-doping and sports law, specialising in gene-doping.
 
When not in court Jonathan also undertakes lecturing post-graduate medical law at the University of Kent and sits as a member of the East Kent NHS Research Ethics Committee.
